MeetHub - Introduction

In the world today, there are many different and widely used social applications, to name a few: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. What these social applications promote is long distance chatting and media sharing with friends and people bonded by similar interests. What people lack, however, are a means to communicate with people around them safely. Today as most people absorb themselves with their devices, social interaction is dwindling, and what our project aims to be is a crutch for people to talk through their devices and then meet in person once they have established their personalities, characters, and hobbies. We have proposed to do this though a hub, a small circle where people can come in and leave at any time, talk with users they don’t have to actually meet face to face until they feel comfortable. Safety, lack of confidence, and language barriers are all real concerns that separate people from going out and talking to strangers. The goal is to have this all established i...
